Anonos calls these modified versions 'Variant Twins.' Each Variant Twin is a protected version of your original data, but the type of protection applied depends on how you plan to use it. This is where their concept of 'data-centric security' comes in – the protection is embedded within the data itself, traveling with it wherever it goes.

For example, if you need to share data with a third party for analysis, you might create a Variant Twin that has been pseudonymized, replacing identifying information with pseudonyms. If you're training an AI model, you might create a synthetic Variant Twin that mimics the statistical properties of the original data without containing any actual sensitive information. Anonos provides a range of privacy-enhancing techniques, including pseudonymization, synthetic data generation, and anonymization, to create these Variant Twins.
